MICHAEL OLUWAFEMI AJIBOLA (REV.)

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola is a native of Irawo, Atisbo Local Government, in the Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State, Nigeria. He was born to the family of Dcn. David Bamidele and Mrs. Maria Mopelola Ajibola on 6th December, 1982. He was birthed and raised in New Bussa, Kainji, former Kwara State, but now in Niger State, Nigeria. The popular Kainji Hydro-Power Station, which is the largest hydropower station in Nigeria, later influence his decision to be trained as an electrical engineer.

EDUCATION

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola had his primary school at Army Children School ‘B’, New Bussa, Niger State between 1987-1993. He proceeded to Government Secondary School, New Bussa, Niger State in 1993 and completed his secondary school education in the school in year 1999. He got admission into University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State in year 2001 to study Electrical Engineering and graduated in year 2005 with Bachelors of Engineering degree (B.Eng). After the completion of his one–year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Isaba Grammar School, Isaba, Warri Southwest L.G.A with Secretariat at Ogbe-Ijoh, Delta State in year 2007, he proceeded to the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS), Ogbomoso, Oyo State in year 2007, a day after leaving the NYSC camp to be trained as a pastor, in response to God’s call upon his life. He graduated in year 2010 from the school with a Master of Divinity (Theology).

 

Eight (8) years after graduating from the seminary, he returned to the classroom at Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary (CGTS), Abeokuta, Ogun State, where he obtained his Master of Theology degree in Old Testament (M.Th – Old Testament) in 2019. His desire to make impacts in the academia made him to go for another Bachelor degree in Christian Religious Studies and Philosophy, from Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, a degree he obtained in year 2021.  graduating with a First Class Honours. In the same year, he proceeded to Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo Oyo State to complete the requirements for the Masters of Arts in Christian Religious Studies, which he started at CGTS, Abeokuta and graduated with MA.CRS (Old Testament). In year 2022, he proceeded the second time again to Redeemer’s University, Ede Osun State for his Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Religious Study and Philosophy with specialization in Old Testament. He is currently at the final lap of the programme.

CONVERSION EXPERIENCE

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola gave his life to Christ on Friday, November 5, 1993 after a ministration at the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) during his first year in the secondary school. He was baptised by Rev. Isaiah Adeniyi Okanlawon on November 25, 2001.

MINISTERIAL/CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCES

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola is an ordained minister of the Gospel. He served at First Baptist Church, Kajola-Alagbara via Ogbomoso, Oyo State as a student pastor between 2018 to 2010. Between 2011 and 2014, he served as the pastor of Pentecost Baptist Church, Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State. In November 2014, he resumed at the pioneer pastor of New Heritage Baptist Church, Ikorodu, Lagos where he is still serving currently. He had been privileged to serve in several leadership capacities at the local church, Baptist denomination and other faith-based organisations. He is currently the Assistant Moderator of Christ Kingdom Baptist Association, Ikorodu, Lagos.

CAREER EXPERERIENCES

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola is a Religious Educator, Religious Engineer and at the same time a researcher in the field of Religious Studies with research interests in African Cultural Studies and African Biblical Hermeneutics. He is a prolific writer with four (4) Christian literatures and nothing less than fifteen (15) academic papers to his credit. His papers are published both in the national and international journals. He had worked as a lecturer of Religions at Caleb University, Magodo Campus, Lagos.  He had made several paper presentations at academic conferences and supervised some undergraduate projects. He organises a yearly Colloquium under the platform of Wordrays Institute to engage his both immediate and remote audiences on contemporary issues in relation to the Christian faith.

FAMILY LIFE

Michael Oluwafemi Ajibola is married to Mrs. Adepeju Odunayo Ajibola, an administrator by calling and an accountant by profession. The union is blessed with a son, Jedidiah EriolaOluwa and a daughter, Jedidah EwaolaOluwa.
