DEACON (ENGR). AYODEJI SAMUEL OMIRINDE COREN, MNIM, C.itp

FAMILY BACKGROUND

Deacon Engr. Ayodeji Omirinde hails from Ijagbo, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria. He was born into the family of Late Pa. Sunday Adegoke & Late Mama Lydia Adeyoola Omirinde as the second of four children on 22nd February, 1981.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

He had his primary education at Ejire Nursery & Primary School, Erin-Ile, Kwara State where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to the Cherubim & Seraphim College, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State for his secondary education after which he pursued his A-Levels at the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin before moving on to the University of Ilorin, Nigeria where he bagged a Bachelors of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005.

CAREER EXPERIENCES

Engr. Omirinde started his career with the Ondo State Electricity Board, Akure as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer in 2006 – 2007. He thereafter worked as a Public Relations Officer & Head, Information Communication Technology at Impact Group of Schools, Akure, from 2007 until June, 2019 when divine providence returned him back to Engineering practice.

He is now a COREN (Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria) certified Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional (C.itp) by the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM). He is currently a Senior Engineer in the Engineering Division of the Information & Communication Technology Application Centre (ICTAC) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, to the glory of God. While at Impact Group of Schools, he led international educational tours to the United Kingdom, Morocco, Ghana and the Republic of Benin at different times.

SPIRITUAL CONVERSION

Bro. Ayo Omirinde gave his life to Christ in December 1998 through a stage drama ministration of the Evangelical Vineyard Outreach Ministries (EVOM) World Network titled ‘Emi fun emi’ (Life for life). He was thereafter baptized in his home church, Calvary Baptist Church, Gaa-Akanbi, Ilorin, Kwara State by Revd. Dr. J.T. Popoola. Since then, he had submitted himself for discipleship programmes such as Follow the Master, Serve the Master, Master Life, Experiencing God, etc and had been growing in the Lord.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Bro. Ayo Omirinde was an active and committed member of the Royal Ambassadors, Baptist Students Fellowship, Youth Fellowship and Calvary Gospel Drama Ministry (CAGODRAM) all of Calvary Baptist Church, Ilorin, his home church. While in the Royal Ambassadors, he served in different offices such as the Parade Commandant, Secretary and President at different times. He also served in different capacities in the local church BSF, Youth Fellowship and CAGODRAM.

In the Baptist Student Fellowship of the University of Ilorin, he was a member of the Drama Group and also served as the Drama Coordinator in 2002, and BSF General Secretary in 2003. He was also privileged to lead the Unilorin Christian Fellowship Association (UCFA), (an umbrella body for about 32 different denominational fellowships on campus), where he served as the President in year 2005.

He joined the then English Chapel of First Baptist Church, Akure (now Mercy-Seat English Baptist Church) in the year 2008 and served in the church as the Drama Coordinator in 2009, also Youth Pastor in 2009, Assistant Church Secretary in 2010, Church Secretary from 2011 till 2019. He had served in different committees/units/departments of the church. He was ordained a Deacon of the Nigerian Baptist Convention in Mercy-Seat English Baptist Church, Akure on 5th October, 2019.  He is currently the Deacon in charge of Finance, Public Relations, and Ecumenism in the Church. He is also currently the Chairman, Deacons’ Fellowship of the Akure Central Baptist Association from 2023 till date.

In the Ondo State Baptist Conference, he also served as the Assistant Recording Secretary of the Ondo State Baptist Conference from 2013 to 2017.

FAMILY LIFE

Deacon. Engr. Ayodeji Omirinde is happily married to his best friend, heart rob and soul mate, Mrs. ‘Damilola Omirinde and to the glory of God, the blissful union is blessed with Shalom Oluwasemiloore, Shammah Ireoluwatomiwa and Jireh Anjolaoluwa.
